New Feature Alert - Always Active Microphone and Camera
Find out how Always Active Microphone and Camera can help you better manage your workforce.
Further developing on our Always Active feature, we have now added the ability to detect when a microphone or camera is being used for certain apps or websites, labeling them as Always Active.
Who is it for?
Always Active Microphone & Camera was designed to make Always Active smarter and to provide customers with new functionality that is even better suited to the realities of modern work.
Now, with version 2, we aim to provide more accurate data regarding when an employee should be considered Always Active. In Teams, for example, we are able to detect when the app is used for chatting versus when it is used for call purposes.
When employees use Teams for a call, we will detect these processes in the background and mark the employee as Always Active for the duration of that call. If the employee ends the call but continues to use the app for chatting purposes, they will no longer be marked as Always Active.
How Does It Work?
In short, the main purpose of this feature is to offer a solution for detecting when employees are using certain apps or websites for chatting purposes and when employees are on a call or in a meeting.
Insightful will consider the app or website always active when one of these two processes (microphone or camera) is detected in the background.
The employee does not have to have the microphone or camera actually ON in order for Insightful to know that it is in use.
We’ve also added additional settings and improvements:
- Always Active Microphone & Camera
- The Default setting will track keyboard and mouse activity. If keyboard and mouse inactivity is longer than the Idle Time settings, it will be recorded as Idle Time.
- Always Active (current functionality) now provides an option to input a value in the threshold, after which Insightful will not consider an app or website Always Active. If the threshold is not selected, Always Active will function as before.
